Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Ronny Deila announced that he is suspected of sexually harassing a female Tel Aviv taxi driver, N12 News reported on Sunday.
According to N12, the 50-year-old football coach allegedly made crass comments to the driver upon arriving at his destination after a night out drinking.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel Police said they had questioned a 50-year-old foreign national residing in Israel after a complaint was filed over the weekend, releasing him afterward under restrictive conditions.
Israeli media initially identified the suspect only as a senior foreign coach employed by a top-division soccer club.
Suspect made sexual remarks toward driver
According to reports, the complaint was filed by a taxi driver who alleged that the coach made sexual remarks toward her during a ride in Tel Aviv last week.
Several outlets reported that the incident occurred late Thursday night or overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, after the coach had allegedly left a bar or other nightlife venue in central Tel Aviv.
