IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir visited Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer to meet with wounded IDF soldiers, including commanders and troops from infantry and armored brigades who were wounded during operational activities in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon ahead of the Rosh Hashanah holiday on Tuesday.
Zamir toured the various departments and spoke with wounded troops and their families about their injuries, recovery and rehabilitation, and their healing journey, expressing appreciation for their spirit, determination, and contribution to Israel’s security.
He also expressed appreciation to the medical teams, medical liaison personnel, and casualty affairs personnel for their work.
Zamir commends soldiers for bravery in battle
“I came to see you ahead of the new year, and I am moved by what I have seen here. There are troops here who stood on the front lines, led, and risked their lives in combat against the enemy – this is bravery in battle. Now, you are facing an operation that requires further bravery as you recover from your injuries,” Zamir said.
“The entire IDF and I deeply appreciate your sacrifice and contribution. It is our duty to stand by you and accompany you throughout your rehabilitation journey. We are with you every step of the way,” he added.
“I salute you. May this be a better year: a year of security and hope, a year of unity and victory. A year in which you continue to stand strong and serve as a source of pride for the entire nation.”
