The first Eilat rains of the year were recorded on Saturday, with authorities warning the city about possible flooding due to the storm.
Citizens from Eilat reported that the rains became stronger during the afternoon, with power outages in some of the residents’ homes. A high-voltage pole was reportedly seen in the city, with no injuries reported.
The authorities explained that, while the current rains were mainly light, with between 0.6 mm and 2.5 mm of rain recorded, there could be heavier storms throughout the day in southern Israel.
Due to this, a Yellow warning was issued for the Dead Sea area, with authorities warning people about possible flash flooding.
No additional announcements were made about the storms, and the warning applied to the entire Dead Sea region rather than a localized area in southern Israel.
