A shooting incident occurred today in Arara, near Haifa, resulting in the death of a 9-year-old girl after she was shot in the head.

Earlier, Magen David Adom paramedics provided medical treatment and performed CPR on the girl, who was transferred to the hospital before being pronounced dead. In addition, another person was injured in the same incident.

Israel Police said that a number of suspects in the criminal incident were arrested and that the incident remains under investigation.

Initial investigations indicate that it was most likely a local fight that developed and escalated between neighbors in the area.

“Unfortunately, on a holiday, an innocent girl pays the price for a crime,” a village resident told Walla. “The village of Arara is relatively quiet compared to the rest of the sector – the great paradox is that the most normative or ordinary people end up adopting the methods of crime families in resolving every conflict.”

“A 7-year-old girl was shot to death in broad daylight in the State of Israel, under the auspices of the Israeli government’s neglect. The heart cannot stand the tragedy that the neglect of Arab society creates,” the Abraham Initiatives said.

They added that “this shocking case is a watershed. Anyone who does not fight against the neglect of Arab society by the government and the police is also complicit in this murder, and in the murders that will come.”

A state crisis: Violence in Israeli society

MK Hamad Amar (Yisrael Beytenu) said following the shooting that “the time has come for Israeli citizens to stop being afraid and for criminals to start being afraid.”

According to Amar, “Crime has taken over Arab society, but it will also spill over everywhere in the State of Israel – in the next government, when I become National Security Minister, the safety of the citizen will be the most important thing to me.”

He also denounced current National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, saying, “Crime is defeated by force, not by videos on TikTok.”

Two paramedics who were called to the scene said, “We contacted the girl who was brought to us in a private vehicle, unconscious and suffering from a penetrating injury. Those present at the scene told us that she had apparently been injured in a violent incident. We performed CPR on her, which included stopping the bleeding, massages, and breathing, and evacuated her to the hospital in critical condition.”
