Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned in a post on X/Twitter on Tuesday that “negotiations on a final deal will not commence” if threats by the United States continue.

He claimed that “Para 13 of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is clear. Negotiations on final Deal (sic) will not commence if threats continue.”

“Honor your signature,” he added.

Para 13 of the MoU states that the signatories (the US and Iran) are committed to and subject to implementing a ceasefire, lifting the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, waiving sanctions, and unfreezing restricted assets.

“The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will start negotiations regarding the final deal exclusively on the other paragraphs,” states Para 13 of the MoU.

“Millions of proud Iranians rallied in unity to honor Grand Ayatollah Khamenei and his legacy. Neither they nor our Brave Armed Forces are moved by any threats,” Araghchi wrote as a preamble.

Trump threatens Iran over deal in Monday interview

In an interview on Monday, US President Donald Trump threatened Iran, saying, “We’re going to make a deal, or we’re going to finish the job.”

“It won’t be tough to finish the job. I’d rather make a deal, because I don’t want to affect 91 million people… We can knock out their electricity and power-generating plants, I would say in the small part of an afternoon. Every plant will be gone, and they know that,” said the president.

During Ali Khamenei’s funeral, the crowd chanted, Our slogan is one word: Revenge, revenge,” and “We will kill, we will kill he who killed our Imam.”

Iran’s military spokesman said, “We have already stated many times that we are on full alert. We took advantage of the ceasefire period to improve our operational capabilities, updated our target bank, and if the enemy commits any act of aggression or violation of sovereignty, it will certainly receive a more overwhelming response than it has received in the past, and one that will make it regret it more than ever.”
