US President Donald Trump said on Friday he was “not satisfied” with Iran’s latest proposal for an end to hostilities, adding that negotiations are currently being conducted over the phone.

Speaking to the media outside the White House, Trump said that Iran wants to make a deal “because they have no military left.”

“They are having tremendous discord in getting along in Iran; their leadership is really disjointed, and there are three, maybe four groups. They all want to make a deal, but they are all very messed up,” he told reporters.

“They’re not able to get along with each other as leaders, said Trump, “they don’t know who the leader is.”

“Their military’s been defeated,” added Trump. “If we left right now, it would take them 20 years to build back that country, but we’re not satisfied at this moment.”

When asked by a reporter if he was considering new strikes on Iran, the President responded, “Why would I tell you that?”

Trump added that he believes his upcoming visit to China will be “an amazing event” and that he will visit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

This is a developing story.
