Veteran Israeli actor Ilan Dar, best known to generations of viewers for playing Ilan in the landmark television comedy Krovim Krovim, died at the age of 89, Israeli media reported on Monday.
Dar was a fixture of Israeli theater, television, and cinema for decades, but his role in Krovim Krovim became one of the defining performances of his career.
The sitcom, which began airing in 1983, followed an extended family living in the same Tel Aviv apartment building and became one of the most enduring programs in Israeli television history.
