An IDF officer was moderately injured in a friendly fire incident at the military engineering school in the Arava area, the military confirmed on Monday.
The officer was evacuated to receive medical attention at the hospital, and his family was notified.
The IDF stated that the military had launched an investigation into the event.
IDF soldier killed in friendly fire in Gaza Strip
In February, St.-Sgt. Ofri Yafe, 21, was killed in a friendly fire incident in the Gaza Strip, the IDF announced.
Yafe was a fighter in the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Unit and was originally from Kibbutz Megiddo in northern Israel.
According to media reports, Yafe was hit by friendly fire during a nighttime operation by paratrooper forces in the Khan Yunis area. He was reportedly critically wounded and was taken to receive medical treatment before he was pronounced dead.
