The State Attorney’s Office indicted a Tiberias resident, about 50, on Thursday over numerous sexual offenses he allegedly committed against two brothers when they were around nine years old, approximately two decades ago.
The indictment, filed in the Haifa District Court, also alleges that the defendant sexually abused the brothers’ sister several years later outside Israel.
According to prosecutors, the defendant developed a close relationship with the children’s mother and gained her trust and that of her sons while falsely presenting himself as a therapeutic professional.
Exploiting that relationship and the boys’ young age, he allegedly subjected them to sexual abuse repeatedly over an extended period, the indictment said.
Suspect prevented one brother from leaving, said to keep abuse secret
In some instances, prosecutors alleged, he prevented one of the brothers from leaving the place where they were and instructed him to keep the abuse secret.
The defendant has been charged with sodomy against a minor, indecent acts involving minors, causing a minor to commit an indecent act, and false imprisonment.
