Former prime minister Naftali Bennett was escorted from Motis’ restaurant in Bnei Brak on Thursday evening after a disturbance broke out during his visit. An object was thrown toward Bennett but did not hit him, and the suspect who allegedly threw it was arrested by police.
Bennett’s B’yachad party issued an official statement following the incident:
“Former prime minister and chairman of the B’Yachad party Naftali Bennett arrived in Bnei Brak tonight.
“He held a ‘parliament’ with several yeshiva students, and the conversation was conducted in a good and substantive manner. After about half an hour, a group of political activists arrived at the scene.
“Two objects that were thrown toward Bennett struck the head of one of his female staff members. She was treated at the scene by a Magen David Adom team and was released without requiring additional medical treatment. Later, Bennett spoke with her and heard that she was feeling well.
“Security forces who were at the scene arrested the suspect in the attack. Bennett thanked the security and rescue forces for their swift response. Bennett will continue holding meetings throughout the country as part of the campaign to repair the State of Israel.”
Police statement claimed no one was hit by thrown object
According to a police statement, during a visit by a “public figure” to a restaurant in Bnei Brak, a passerby who walked by the location threw an object that did not hit the individual. Officers from the Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan police station, who were at the scene, immediately arrested the suspect, who was taken for questioning at the station.

Videos circulated on social media showed a crowd gathering outside the restaurant and a disturbance developing during Bennett’s visit. According to reports from the scene, extremists who arrived at the restaurant issued threats toward Bennett, and police escorted him from the area.
Among those present at the scene was right-wing activist Mordechai David, who was filmed arriving at the location and engaging in a verbal confrontation with Bennett and those around him. Footage showed large groups of people gathering near the former prime minister while police worked to manage the situation.
During the exchange, Bennett told David: “I suggest you get drafted quickly because from the moment I become prime minister, you won’t receive a single shekel from the state.”
