American-Jewish actor Mark Feuerstein, who played everyone’s favorite concierge doctor in Royal Pains, will be arriving in Israel in the coming days to begin filming Midair, a new action thriller that will air on Yes.

Produced by Paramount’s Ananey Studios, in collaboration with KODA and Jaya Entertainment, the series also stars Aviv Alush and Gal Malka.

‘Midair’ follows a pilot carrying a mysterious weapon

In a story that sounds especially topical after the attempted flydubai hijacking last week, Midair follows a pilot and a combat navigator, played by Alush and Malka, aboard a fighter jet carrying a mysterious weapon high above Israel.

As they struggle to keep the aircraft airborne, a team on the ground led by a CIA agent, played by Feuerstein, races to neutralize the weapon before the crisis becomes a disaster.

Set against a volatile political and geopolitical backdrop, the series combines airborne action with an intelligence thriller.

Feuerstein is one of America’s most interesting character actors, who has often been cast in nice-Jewish-boy roles. He recently played a rabbi-turned-gunslinger in Guns & Moses, and he has appeared in The West Wing, In Her Shoes, Lady in the Lake, Prison Break, Practical Magic, and many other movies and series.

Midair was created by Kobi Rabi, Ram Landes, and Yizhar Har-Lev, with Ilan Aboudi directing. Har-Lev serves as head writer, alongside screenwriters Rabi, Landes, and Aurit Zamir.
