Brazilian Senator Flavio Bolsonaro arrived in Miami and was received by his brother Eduardo, O Globo reported, citing unnamed allies close to the family. The reported arrival has not been independently verified by JBizNews.
The newspaper’s account, published Tuesday evening, said Eduardo traveled from Texas to Florida with his wife and children to meet his brother. It did not provide on-record confirmation of the arrival from Flavio, his lawyers or U.S. officials.
Arrival account rests on unnamed allies
UOL separately reported that an unnamed ally said Flavio had reached the United States Tuesday afternoon. That account did not establish how he entered the country.
UOL also reported an earlier denial from Eduardo, who called the travel report a lie and sarcastically said Elon Musk had sent a rocket. The competing accounts leave the senator’s movements without a clear, on-record family explanation.
The reports followed a deadline for Flavio to surrender his passports under a Brazilian Supreme Court order barring him from leaving the country. UOL reported that federal police canceled his ordinary and diplomatic passports after he failed to hand them over within 24 hours.
Route and legal status remain unclear
Earlier speculation that Flavio had traveled through Argentina did not establish his route. The Miami account should not be read as confirmation of how he left Brazil, his U.S. immigration status or any role for American officials in arranging a trip.
O Globo’s report is a new account of his whereabouts, rather than official confirmation of an arrival. JBizNews will update this report if Flavio, his representatives or relevant authorities provide an on-record statement.
