In August, Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s egg-freezing journey incited a national debate about fertility and reproductive rights, with women on both sides of the aisle hailing her decision as a feminist one (amid, of course, the expected right-wing conservative backlash).
I agree that Ocasio-Cortez’s choice to freeze her eggs, and do so publicly, is certainly feminist. But the industry as a whole is not.
