A free online fellowship for family caregivers will begin November 9, STAR Network announced Wednesday, offering peer support without requiring participants to speak or turn on a camera.
The nonprofit announced the program October 28, with funding from the WellMed Charitable Foundation. The program’s website lists the first meeting for Monday, November 9, 2026, and says people can register before then.
When are the meetings?
The regular online schedule is Mondays at 10 a.m., Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m., all Eastern Time. The program says meetings last about an hour and participants can attend more than one each week.
Two trained peer mentors lead each meeting. Participants may listen without speaking, leave their camera off and use a name other than their real name. Organizers say meetings are confidential and never recorded.
What kind of help does it offer?
The fellowship is for people who care for a family member, including a parent, spouse or child. The website says former and bereaved caregivers are also welcome, and that people can join from around the world.
STAR Network describes the meetings as a trauma-informed lifestyle program, with voluntary sharing and everyday practices such as breathing and emotional-regulation skills. It says the program is not religious and welcomes caregivers of all backgrounds.
This is peer support, not therapy or counseling. The announcement does not establish that attending the program treats a medical or mental-health condition.
How can caregivers join?
The program’s website has a meeting signup form. It asks for an email address to select meetings, receive reminders and receive its newsletter, with an option to unsubscribe.
Caregiver Connections will also offer the WellMed Charitable Foundation’s Caregiver Teleconnection expert webinars within the fellowship, according to the announcement. Organizers describe those as free one-hour sessions, separate from the peer meetings.
Meetings begin November 9. Registration is open at caregiverconnections.com.
