NEW YORK – The Estée Lauder Companies announced an expanded partnership with Microsoft on Friday, October 30, to strengthen its cloud and data systems and extend its use of artificial intelligence across its beauty business.

The collaboration centers on the company’s Unified Data Platform, which connects information across its brands, regions, sales channels and business functions. The companies say the shared foundation is intended to support product development, consumer experiences and internal decision-making.

Estée Lauder said it has expanded Microsoft Copilot across its global office-based workforce, reaching more than 14,000 employees. The announcement did not say that all those employees received access for the first time on Friday.

Microsoft’s account of the partnership says the data platform brings together 80 years of consumer insights. Estée Lauder’s portfolio includes Clinique, M·A·C, La Mer, Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Aveda, with products sold in approximately 150 countries and territories.

The beauty group is also investing in a Unified Consumer Data Platform intended to connect consumer and product information and support more personalized experiences from product discovery through purchase. It plans to use connected data in workflows spanning design, validation and manufacturing.

The expanded collaboration is part of Estée Lauder’s One Operating Ecosystem and its Beauty Reimagined strategy. The announcements did not disclose a contract value or quantify productivity gains from the new partnership.
