U.S. stock futures rose and oil prices fell in Sunday evening trading, giving investors an early look at markets ahead of a week that includes the midterm elections, major company earnings and the October jobs report.

In CME Group’s delayed Sunday evening quotes checked around 8:49 p.m. Eastern, December E-mini S&P 500 futures were up 0.39% at 7,643.75. December Nasdaq-100 futures gained 0.80% to 28,761.75, while December Dow futures added 187 points, or 0.36%, to 52,105. CME says its market data is delayed by at least 10 minutes. The figures are an updated snapshot of overnight futures trading, not Monday’s opening prices for the stock indexes.

CME’s December West Texas Intermediate crude contract was down $2.41, or 2.31%, at $101.71 a barrel in the same delayed quote check. ICE’s January Brent contract was at $111.20, down about 1.97%, with a displayed trade time of 8:39 p.m. Eastern. The Brent quote is for January, not the expired December contract. Lower crude futures do not mean gasoline prices at the pump have already fallen.

The modest stock-futures gains followed a losing week for all three major U.S. stock indexes. Investors are still weighing the returns from heavy spending on artificial intelligence as another round of technology earnings approaches.

The week’s economic and earnings calendar includes Apple’s results after Monday’s close, Tuesday’s congressional elections and Friday’s monthly jobs report. Each could shift expectations for company profits, government policy and interest rates.

Energy traders also enter the week after seven OPEC+ producers decided to keep December output targets unchanged. Sunday’s price moves are an early trading response, not a settlement price or a guarantee of where oil or stocks will trade when U.S. markets open Monday.
