Democrats Paige Cognetti and Janelle Stelson are projected to defeat Republican incumbents in two Pennsylvania congressional races Tuesday night, flipping the state’s 8th and 10th District seats, Fox News reported.

Cognetti, the mayor of Scranton, is projected to defeat Rep. Rob Bresnahan Jr. in the 8th District in northeastern Pennsylvania. Bresnahan won the seat in 2024, defeating Democratic Rep. Matt Cartwright, according to Fox’s election-night report.

Fox reported that Cognetti campaigned on affordability, health care and utility costs, protecting Medicaid and a ban on congressional stock trading. Bresnahan focused on cutting taxes, border security and support for the area’s working-class and union workforce.

In south-central Pennsylvania’s 10th District, Stelson, a former television news anchor, is projected to defeat Rep. Scott Perry, Fox reported. Perry has served in Congress since 2013 and is a former Army brigadier general.

Both results are attributed media projections, not election certifications.
