Republican Rep. Mike Lawler conceded New York’s 17th Congressional District race to Democrat Cait Conley on Tuesday night, FOX 5 New York reported.

A Conley victory would flip the Lower Hudson Valley seat to Democrats. Lawler was seeking a third term in Congress.

Conley is an Army veteran who served as an active-duty officer for 16 years and later as director for counterterrorism on the National Security Council, according to FOX 5. She launched her campaign at the start of 2025.

A candidate’s concession is not election certification. Vote counting can continue after a concession.

FOX 5 New York reported that Mike Lawler conceded the race to Conley.
