Republican Rep. Julia Letlow has defeated Democrat Jamie Davis for Louisiana’s U.S. Senate seat, keeping it in Republican hands.
The Associated Press, NBC News, CBS News and the Fox News Decision Desk have all called the race for Letlow.
Letlow succeeds Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy, who lost his bid for renomination earlier this year. She finished ahead of Cassidy in the GOP primary before winning a runoff against state Treasurer John Fleming.
