HouseCanary has added three brokerages to its Google Listings Program, making active home listings from more than 1,000 additional agents available for display in Google mobile search in markets where the program is live.
The additions are REMAX Advantage, home of The Ashton Real Estate Group and The Sandoval Team; Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group; and ENRG Realty, according to the company’s Wednesday announcement and HousingWire’s report.
For a buyer searching on a phone, the program offers another way to find a home and reach its listing agent. For brokerages, it provides another place for their listings to appear, alongside the property portals buyers already use.
More listings, but not in every market
The expansion does not mean the listings will appear in every Google search nationwide. HouseCanary says eligible properties are available for display in active markets through participating multiple listing services, or MLSs. Google selects listings based on their relevance to a search.
Listings appear in a carousel with basic property details and brokerage attribution. Buyers can open a detail page that identifies the listing agent and includes a click-to-contact button.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group has more than 700 agents in greater Tampa Bay and central Florida, HousingWire reported. ENRG Realty has nearly 300 agents across 14 states, according to the company as cited by HousingWire.
The new agreements extend the same program previously joined by The Keyes Company and Illustrated Properties. They do not replace the requirement to supply listings through a participating MLS.
What brokers need to check
HouseCanary’s program page says agents must work through a broker in a participating MLS. MLS rules determine whether brokerages opt in or out. Active listings are eligible, along with some pre-market properties; commercial property, rentals and land generally are not included. The company says placement carries no additional advertising charge for listing brokers and agents beyond existing MLS fees.
The expansion also comes while HouseCanary works through Chapter 11. HousingWire reported that its proposed restructuring plan still needs court approval and targets an exit before year-end. That is a target, not a completed bankruptcy exit.
