Flutter Entertainment’s new chief executive is counting on better products and more generous customer rewards to turn FanDuel’s improving engagement into stronger profits, after his first earnings report at the helm showed third-quarter revenue and adjusted EBITDA missing Wall Street expectations, CNBC reported.
Dan Taylor, five weeks into the job, said FanDuel is seeing good momentum despite fierce competition. Average monthly players on its U.S. sportsbook rose 9% in the quarter and bet counts increased 15%, with total U.S. average monthly players up 12% including 24% growth in iGaming. Sportsbook handle rose 13%, but sportsbook revenue grew just 4% as promotional spending increased.
Flutter shares are down more than 60% this year. Taylor said the company plans to keep investing in customer experience and sees room to improve structural margins over time.
The company is also spending to build FanDuel Predicts, its prediction-market platform rivaling Kalshi and Polymarket. Taylor said the app’s trading volume has surged 271% since July and added 140,000 new customers in October, while cost of sales is forecast at 58% of revenue for 2026 and into 2027.
