Queens job seekers can meet employers and put their resumes directly in front of company representatives Friday morning at a free job fair in Richmond Hill.
State Sen. Joseph P. Addabbo Jr.’s annual job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, November 6, at Villa Russo, 101-12 Lefferts Boulevard, Richmond Hill, NY 11419. Attendance is free for job seekers and employers.
Representatives from dozens of companies across New York State are expected to review resumes and meet potential applicants, according to the organizer. The three-hour event gives people looking for work a chance to speak with employers in person rather than relying only on online applications.
Bring resumes and arrive early
Addabbo’s office advises attendees to wear business attire, bring multiple copies of their resume and arrive early to make the most of the opportunity to meet employers. The fair begins at 10 a.m., so job seekers can plan their trip before the doors open.
“I know job searching can be overwhelming, especially in today’s economy,” Addabbo said in the event announcement. “That’s why I host this Job Fair every year – to bring together skilled candidates and local employers so people can take the next step toward stable, rewarding work.”
Employers interested in participating can contact Anna Sargeant in Addabbo’s office at sargeant@nysenate.gov or 718-497-1630.
