JetBlue has raised its checked-bag fees for the second time this year, with the higher prices applying to bookings made from November 3 – just ahead of the holiday travel season.

For Main and Even More fares on flights within the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, a first checked bag now costs $50 off-peak and $55 peak when added more than 24 hours before departure, and $60 or $70 within 24 hours of the flight, according to the airline’s published fee schedule. On transatlantic routes, Base fares now pay $80 off-peak and $90 peak for a first prepaid checked bag. The previous starting price for a first bag was $39, the Associated Press reported.

Not every passenger pays: Mint and premium transatlantic fares include checked bags, and Mosaic elite members and JetBlue credit card holders keep free-bag allowances. Travelers who booked before November 3 can confirm what their ticket includes through the Manage Trips section of JetBlue’s website or app.

The carrier has pointed to elevated jet fuel costs that have squeezed airlines’ margins this year. JetBlue last raised bag fees earlier in 2026. The airline reported a wider quarterly loss in October even as revenue rose 21%, and its shares have been under pressure from fuel costs and debt concerns.
