As part of preparations for the signing of the US-Iran agreement to end the war, Ben-Gurion Airport is ready to evacuate US Navy aircraft.

Israeli authorities have been informed that from the moment the agreement is approved, US military planes will leave the airport immediately.

The preparation focuses on evacuation within 72 hours to nearby bases across Europe.

If necessary and should the situation escalate, the aircraft will be placed on high alert at Ben-Gurion.

Most of the planes have already been moved from their positions at Ben-Gurion to the nearby Lod Airbase, also known as Air Force Base 27, which has been reopened.

US aircraft expected to remain at Ben-Gurion through 2027

Earlier this month, N12 reported that dozens of US military refueling aircraft are expected to remain stationed in Ben-Gurion Airport at least until the end of 2027.

The aircraft and US military personnel required to operate them will be stationed in and around Ben-Gurion Airport and are already creating significant logistical challenges for the airport, according to N12.
