Ceribell commercially launched a delirium-monitoring feature on its bedside brain-monitoring platform on Monday, November 2, expanding a system already used for seizure detection with artificial intelligence tools intended to help clinicians screen for and monitor delirium.

The Sunnyvale, California-based medical technology company said the feature analyzes electroencephalography, or EEG, segments for patterns associated with delirium. It uses the same headband and hardware as the company’s seizure-monitoring system, according to its launch announcement.

The monitoring is designed to work alongside bedside clinical evaluations, not replace them. Ceribell said alerts and continuous neurological trends give clinicians additional information when screening patients and following changes in their condition.

Delirium involves an acute change in attention and awareness. Ceribell said hypoactive delirium, in which a patient may be quiet or less responsive, can be difficult to recognize and can resemble nonconvulsive seizures in critically ill patients. The platform provides EEG-based monitoring for both conditions.

Monday’s announcement is a commercial launch, not a new regulatory clearance. The company said the delirium-screening and monitoring capability received FDA 510(k) clearance in December 2025.

Ceribell said the rollout follows a pilot at multiple hospitals that had already used its seizure-detection platform. The announcement included clinicians’ and management’s assessments of the pilot but did not provide controlled clinical results establishing that the new feature improves patient outcomes.
