Former IDF chief of staff Herzi Halevi spoke publicly for the first time since leaving his position in March 2025, asserting that “October 7 was a preventable failure, but there was 100% no betrayal from within” on Sunday.
Halevi made the comment while speaking at a conference in New York.
He further stated that Israel should complete an investigation into the security failures surrounding the October 7 massacre as part of the national healing process.
