The Heisman Trophy Trust plans to move its headquarters a short distance along Broadway next year, taking 5,000 square feet at Larry Silverstein’s landmarked 120 Broadway in Lower Manhattan.

The nonprofit, which manages the annual college football award, will leave its offices at nearby 111 Broadway for space on the 13th floor under a 10-year lease, the New York Post reported Thursday.

An office lease with a public-facing display

The arrangement reaches beyond the Trust’s offices. An exact replica of the trophy is to be displayed in the public lobby and in the building’s 10th-floor tenant amenity center, known as the Landmark. Part of that amenity space will be rebranded as the Heisman Lounge, according to the Post.

The distinction matters for visitors: the lobby display is described as public, while the lounge sits within a tenant amenity center.

A familiar institution at a landmark address

Silverstein senior vice president Joe Artusa described 120 Broadway as a fitting home for the trophy and said Trust employees would benefit from its location, amenities and service, the Post reported.

Trust CEO Jeff Price said the space and amenities would support the team while giving college football fans a chance to see the trophy up close, according to the report.

The landlord’s official property description identifies 120 Broadway as a 1915 Beaux-Arts building and describes capital improvements to restore its historic character while adding modern amenities. Its major tenants include Banco Popular, Tower Research Capital, Macmillan and Golden Goose.

A new tenant and a trophy display

The reported lease adds a recognizable nonprofit tenant and a sports-linked display to the office building. For the Trust, it combines a headquarters move with a new setting for the trophy replica.
