The IDF’s 146th Division completed its activities in southern Lebanon after three months and would be brought back into Israel, the military announced on Monday.

“During their operations, the troops struck and eliminated more than 550 terrorists and dismantled more than 2,700 terrorist infrastructure sites, including over 200 weapons storage facilities that were dismantled with the assistance of the IAF, as well as dozens of underground routes that were dismantled in cooperation with the Yahalom Unit,” the IDF stated.

This comes as the IDF has intensified its efforts against Hezbollah in Lebanon, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz having ordered the IDF to return to heavy attacks on Hezbollah’s Dahiyeh stronghold in Beirut on Monday morning.

IDF takes over Beaufort Ridge outpost

The IDF also announced on Sunday morning that its ground troops had taken over the Beaufort Ridge outpost and Wadi al-Saluki areas beyond the Litani River

In a statement on Monday, IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin announced that control of the Beufort Ridge carried “important operational significance.”

“It is a key geographic asset of Hezbollah and serves as a central hub for the terrorist organization,” Defrin stated. “From this area, Hezbollah directs fire and conducts observation toward the communities of the Galilee Panhandle and Metula. Since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion alone, more than 400 launches have been fired from this area.”
