Israel’s growing isolation could endanger its leadership in artificial intelligence and technology, Microsoft Israel R&D chief Michal Braverman-Blumenstyk warned in an interview with Ynet published Friday, saying the industry depends on global academic, customer and business links.
Braverman-Blumenstyk said Microsoft remains committed to Israel. The R&D center’s staff has roughly doubled to about 3,000 during her tenure, spread across some 30 product groups.
She steps down in December, a move announced last month. Ohad Yassin will replace her as head of the R&D center, which operates separately from Microsoft’s Israeli sales branch.
