A guard at Israel’s embassy in Belgrade, Serbia, was attacked by a knife-wielding assailant early on Wednesday morning, according to Serbian police.
The attacker was killed at the site shortly after midnight.
Serbia’s Interior Minister, Ivica Dacic, said that police had increased the terror threat level to the highest grade and increased their presence at vulnerable locations, according to the Associated Press.
“A minor, so far unidentified… shouting Allahu Akbar, attacked the member of Gendarmerie and attacked him with two knives,” said Dacic.
The guard was lightly wounded.
This is a developing story.
