Legrand, the French maker of electrical and data-center equipment, raised its full-year sales target for the second time this year after strong demand from data-center builders drove results above expectations in the first nine months of 2026.
Sales rose 22% excluding currency effects over the nine months, the company said, powered by organic growth in data centers of close to 40%. Adjusted operating margin came in at 20.8% of sales, and net profit rose 19.6%. Data centers now account for about a third of the company’s business.
Legrand now targets 2026 sales growth of 20% to 22% excluding currency, including organic growth of 11% to 13%, up from a previous target of 8% to 10%. The company has made seven acquisitions this year, all in energy and digital-transition markets.
Chief Executive Benoît Coquart told Reuters the company could benefit if criticism of energy-hungry data centers pushes the industry toward more efficient designs. Democrats’ midterm sweep, including in Texas, has raised fears of a backlash against data centers, which local communities criticize for heavy energy and water use. “This should lead to solutions that are more energy-efficient,” said Coquart, whose view is his own, adding that 40% of Legrand’s data-center revenue comes from products that help save energy.
Coquart said he does not expect a market decline, saying customers plan to keep investing: “We are more likely to increase than to reduce our investments,” he quoted them as saying.
