Russia’s Defence Ministry said its forces struck Ukrainian energy facilities in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions overnight into Tuesday, according to Interfax.
The ministry also claimed strikes on port infrastructure in the Odesa region and vessels it said were used by Ukraine’s military. Those claims have not been independently established in the accounts available for this report.
Reuters reported the Russian account, citing Interfax, and said it was unable to independently verify the information.
Russia describes overnight attack
The ministry said the attack used long-range drones and precision weapons launched from the ground and air. It described the energy sites as supplying military-industrial facilities and Ukrainian forces, Interfax reported. That description is Russia’s stated justification, not an independently verified assessment of the facilities’ use.
The reports did not include a Ukrainian response, casualty figures, a confirmed assessment of physical damage or totals for households without power. The Russian account therefore does not establish the extent of the attack’s effects on civilians, electricity supplies or shipping.
