Six Jenin residents in their 30s have been arrested in a months-long investigation into a cell suspected of manufacturing rockets and explosives for attacks against Israel and Israeli security forces, the Shin Bet and police said, according to Israel National News.
The investigation was conducted by the Shin Bet and the Judea and Samaria District Police Central Unit. Investigators said the suspects manufactured a rocket and explosives and carried out three test launches, the report said.
According to the report, investigators found that the central suspect had been in contact with a source outside Israel who sent information about materials for making explosives through a messaging app. The allegations remain part of the investigation.
Security forces seized weapons, including an M-16 assault rifle and a rocket-propelled grenade, as well as written instructions concerning explosives, rockets and bombs, Israel National News reported.
A prosecutor’s declaration of intent was filed against the six suspects over the weekend. Indictments are expected in the coming days, according to the report; it did not report that indictments had already been filed.
