Staff-Sergeant Adam Tzarfati was killed in a Hezbollah drone explosion in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Monday.

Tzarfati, 20, from Rosh Ha’ayin, served in the Maglan Unit of the Commando Brigade.

One soldier was severely wounded, and two others were lightly wounded during the incident in which Tzarfati was killed.

All three were evacuated by helicopter to the hospital to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified.

Tzarfati is the third soldier to be killed by a Hezbollah drone in the past five days.

Staff-Sergeant Michael Tyukin killed in combat in southern Lebanon

On Sunday, the IDF announced that Staff-Sergeant Michael Tyukin, 21, had been killed by an exploding Hezbollah drone. Four other IDF soldiers were lightly wounded in the incident.

Tyukin, 21, from Ashkelon, served in the Givati Brigade’s Reconnaissance Battalion. An only child, he made aliyah from Ukraine with his mother six years ago.

The drone did not use night-vision equipment, an initial IDF investigation showed, according to Army Radio. One assessment of how the drone was able to strike the battalion’s soldiers is that the troops were known to be using that route to advance.

Another indicates that Hezbollah terrorists may have used the light from the full moon to navigate, according to Army Radio.
