The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) shared a message for tourists learning about American culture for the first time during the World Cup: “If you fall in love with ranch dressing, remember to keep it in your checked baggage.”
Many tourists visiting the United States for the first time have discovered the popular American condiment, prompting the TSA to remind travelers about the limits on carry-on liquids.
For those unaware, Ranch is a creamy condiment made from a blend of dairy and mayonnaise, mixed with herbs and spices. Its consistency is liquid, meaning it is not permitted in carry-on luggage.

“Who knew dip-lomacy could be achieved through addressing the obvious: Ranch is the king of condiments,” the TSA wrote on Instagram shortly after the World Cup began.
“Are you kicking around the idea of flying home with your favorite dip? If you’re traveling within the US, make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4oz or less, and place any larger containers in your checked bags.”
The TSA also shared several joking comments about travelers with their condiments, noting that you do not need to chug your ranch outside security and that it can be checked with your luggage under the plane.
