Upwind has raised $400 million in a Series C funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, giving the cloud-security company more money to expand its engineering team and develop products for businesses using artificial intelligence.
The round brings Upwind’s total funding to more than $800 million, co-founder and chief executive Amiram Shachar said in an October 28 company announcement. It follows a $250 million Series B announced less than nine months earlier.
Existing investors participating in the new round include Greylock Partners, Cyberstarts, Salesforce Ventures and TCV. Canapi Ventures is joining the investor group, the company said. The announcement did not disclose a valuation.
The funding is aimed at a changing security problem: companies are connecting AI tools to software, data and infrastructure while trying to control what those tools can access and do. Upwind says it is expanding beyond scanning code and cloud systems to include endpoints, AI agents and the tools those agents use.
Shachar said the company is building AI sensors for endpoints, scanners for agents and skills, and a new inventory graph. Those are company product plans, not a guarantee that every capability is available to customers today.
Upwind also described three security agents. Its Blue Agent investigates information across log sources, its Red Agent tests whether exposures and vulnerabilities can be exploited, and its Green Agent identifies changes that could address multiple security findings. The company says these tools are intended to help security teams decide which problems need attention rather than treating every scan result equally.
The company has also launched AI Labs for Cybersecurity, with work spanning AI security, agent-based security, models and benchmarks, and advanced AI systems. Shachar said the new capital would support deeper investment in the platform and expansion into identity, data and AI security.
For customers, the next test is execution: whether that investment produces useful tools that fit their systems and help teams address risks in live workloads. The funding announcement provides capital and a product direction, not independent evidence of those outcomes.
