Walmart rolled out a holiday grocery basket Wednesday that it says can feed 10 people for $35, but delivery charges and local availability can change the bill.
The company’s October 28 announcement says the basket contains 26 items, representing 17 different products, and is available through December 24. It includes turkey and ingredients for sides and dessert, which shoppers must prepare.
What does the $35 estimate assume?
Walmart bases the price on an average 13.5-pound Butterball turkey at 97 cents a pound and three sweet potatoes weighing a total of 3.2 pounds at 88 cents a pound.
The featured groceries include stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, ingredients for green bean and sweet potato casseroles, dinner rolls, corn muffin mix, pumpkin pie and whipped topping. Availability varies.
Walmart’s price offer runs from October 28 through December 24, 2026, and excludes Alaska, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico and Wisconsin.
Delivery can change the bill
The company says additional pickup, shipping or delivery fees ranging from $0 to $19.95 may apply. Fees are subject to change and are to be shown before purchase. The advertised $35 is therefore not a guaranteed delivered total.
A separate free Express Delivery promotion runs through November 30, 2026. It requires the code THANKFUL, a minimum $35 order, and an order that includes Campbell’s mushroom soup, Butterball turkey or Stove Top stuffing mix.
The delivery offer does not apply to alcohol or prescription purchases. Customers remain responsible for applicable taxes. Walmart says restrictions apply and the offer may change or end without notice.
Buying the basket or individual items
Walmart says customers can buy the assortment in stores or online and can also purchase individual items. It says there are no purchase quantity limits, but that remains subject to availability.
