Democrat Rebecca Cooke won Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District on Tuesday, defeating Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden in a rematch and flipping the western Wisconsin seat.
Van Orden called Cooke to concede the race around 10:30 p.m., WPR reported. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel also reported the concession. The Associated Press called the race, the Wisconsin Examiner reported, and CBS News projected Cooke’s victory.
Cooke is a Democrat from Eau Claire. The race was a rematch of 2024, when Van Orden defeated her.
The result is a media race call, not election certification.
