Israel’s Central Elections Committee said Wednesday it found no evidence that the integrity of the country’s parliamentary election was compromised, after reviewing all complaints submitted by political parties and the public, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The committee reviewed protocols from 9,069 polling stations, about 75% of the country’s 12,018 regular voting locations, with 350 stations receiving more extensive examinations of ballots, voting materials and voter registers, Ynet reported. The review covered 2,452 submissions from parties and candidate lists and 1,239 reports from the public.
Approximately 250 public-sector lawyers worked alongside committee staff over six working days, from Oct. 28 through Nov. 3. The committee said corrections to election records were made where official documentation supported them.
The results of the Oct. 27 election for the 26th Knesset are not yet official, and final seat totals have not been announced. The committee will present the results to President Isaac Herzog later Wednesday, and they will then be published in accordance with the law.
