Goldman Sachs and Apollo Global Management are talking to investors about buying portions of a roughly $40 billion financing package for SpaceX’s artificial intelligence chips, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday.

The talks are about selling down pieces of the financing to other investors, not a new chip purchase, and no sale has closed.

The package itself was announced October 26 as the largest GPU financing ever: a master finance lease with an Apollo-managed entity for NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin chips, with Goldman Sachs as sole structuring agent and anchor commitments from BlackRock, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and KKR. SpaceX said the chips will power Grok and its cloud services, with closing expected before year-end and deliveries in the first half of 2027.
