Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman is projected to defeat Democrat James Byrd in Wyoming’s U.S. Senate race, the Fox News Decision Desk reported Tuesday night.
The projected result would keep the seat in Republican hands following Sen. Cynthia Lummis’ decision not to seek another term, according to Fox.
Hageman, a two-term member of the House, won the Republican Senate nomination in August. Byrd is a former Wyoming state representative, Fox reported.
The outcome is an attributed media projection, not election certification.
