Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul is projected to win reelection in New York over Republican Bruce Blakeman, the Fox News Decision Desk reported Tuesday night.
The projected victory would keep the governor’s office in Democratic hands and extend Hochul’s tenure in Albany. She became governor in 2021 after Andrew Cuomo resigned, according to Fox’s election-night report.
Hochul campaigned on affordability, public safety, housing and economic growth. Blakeman sought to make concerns about crime, taxes, housing costs and congestion central to his challenge, Fox reported.
Fox published its projection at 9 p.m. Eastern. This is a media race call, not a certified election result. This report includes no vote totals or margin.
