The Israeli military said Monday that it had killed two members of Hamas’s Nukhba force in separate airstrikes in Gaza on Saturday, including a man it said participated in the October 7, 2023, attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz.

In a statement posted by its spokesperson, the IDF identified the man killed in the Khan Younis area as Muhammad Kamel Musleh Qudeih. The military said he had taken part in the Nir Oz assault and was responsible for the operational readiness of Nukhba members.

A separate strike in the Nuseirat area killed Diaa Abd al-Muhsin Muhammad Abu al-Rous, the IDF said. It identified him as a Nukhba member in Hamas’s military wing.

The IDF said the two men had worked during the war, particularly recently, to advance attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and rebuild Hamas’s capabilities. It described those activities as systematic violations of the ceasefire and said the airstrikes were intended to remove the threat the men posed.

The men’s roles, their activities and the circumstances of the strikes were not independently verified by JBizNews. The military’s statement did not provide a detailed account of the evidence behind its allegations or a broader casualty assessment for the two strikes.

The IDF said Israeli security forces remained deployed in accordance with the agreement and would continue acting against immediate threats.
