Phil Weiser, Colorado’s Jewish attorney general, has won the state’s race for governor, defeating Republican Victor Marx, Fox News projects.

Fox posted its Colorado call at 9 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, projecting a win for the Democratic candidate. The media projection is not an election certification.

Weiser has spoken publicly about his Jewish identity and his family’s experience surviving the Holocaust. In a June 2025 statement on his campaign website condemning an antisemitic attack in Boulder, he described the victims as “fellow Jews” and wrote that America’s promise drew his family to the country after surviving the Holocaust.

He called for rejecting politically motivated violence and for a Colorado where people are welcome and hate has no place. His projected election adds another Jewish governor to Colorado’s history; Jared Polis became the state’s first Jewish governor in 2019, as The Colorado Sun reported at his inauguration.
