Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Hakeem Jeffries have won reelection in their New York districts, Fox News reported Tuesday night.
Ocasio-Cortez defeated Republican Diamant Hysenaj in the 14th Congressional District, which includes parts of the Bronx and Queens. The result gives her a fifth term in the House, according to Fox.
She has represented the district since 2019, following her victory over longtime Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley in the 2018 primary. Hysenaj campaigned on costs, taxes, public safety and support for small businesses, Fox reported.
Jeffries wins another term in the 8th District
Jeffries defeated Republican Lewis Mizrahi in the 8th Congressional District. He has represented the district since 2013 and became House Democratic leader in 2023, according to Fox.
The outcomes keep both seats in Democratic hands. Neither race establishes which party will control the House, and this report does not make a claim about the next speaker.
These are media race calls, not certified election results. No vote totals or margins are reported here.
