Democrat Jeremy Moss has won Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, the Associated Press projects, according to the AP race call listed on Fox News’ Michigan results page Tuesday night.
Moss defeated Republican Ethan Baker, the mayor of Troy, in the contest to succeed Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens. Stevens left the House race to seek her party’s U.S. Senate nomination and lost that primary, CBS Detroit reported.
The result keeps the seat in Democratic hands. The district covers communities in Oakland County, including Troy, Pontiac, Royal Oak and West Bloomfield, according to CBS.
Moss served on the Southfield City Council before winning election to the Michigan House in 2014 and the state Senate in 2018. Baker joined the Troy City Council before becoming mayor in 2019 and winning reelection in 2023, CBS reported.
Fox’s results page listed the AP race call at 9:23 p.m. Eastern. This report includes no vote totals or margin, and the media projection is not an election certification or a call on control of the House.
