Republican Sen. Tom Cotton has won reelection in Arkansas, defeating Democratic challenger Hallie Shoffner, the Fox News Decision Desk projects.

The projected result would give Cotton a third six-year term in the Senate, keeping the Arkansas seat in Republican hands.

Cotton won election to the U.S. House in 2012 before winning a Senate seat in 2014. Shoffner, a farmer, made agriculture a focus of her campaign, Fox reported.

The outcome remains an attributed media projection, not an election certification. This report includes no vote totals, margin or final seat counts and makes no projection about control of the Senate.
