Democrat Adam Hamilton is projected to defeat Republican Sen. Roger Marshall in Kansas’s U.S. Senate race, the Fox News Decision Desk reported Tuesday night.
The projected result would flip a Republican-held seat and end Marshall’s bid for a second term. Hamilton entered the race as a newcomer to elected politics, according to Fox’s election-night report.
Fox described the race as unexpectedly competitive in its closing weeks. Marshall had acknowledged before the election that he faced a difficult reelection fight.
