Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs is projected to defeat Republican Rep. Andy Biggs in Arizona’s governor race, CBS News projects. The Fox News Decision Desk also projected Hobbs’s reelection.
The result would give Hobbs a second four-year term. She first won the governorship in 2022 after serving as Arizona secretary of state.
Biggs, a former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, had President Donald Trump’s backing. Hobbs campaigned on her record as governor and work with Republican lawmakers, CBS reported.
The outcome is an attributed media projection, not election certification.
